Don Fernando De Taos Hotel

Visitors to Taos and sightseeing just might mistake the Don Fernando de Taos hotel for a Pueblo Indian adobe, but what they'll find is one of the most affordable hotels in the area. The hotel is beautifully built, reminiscent of not only early Pueblo architecture and Western culture.

Beautiful Architecture
The hotel was built as a Holiday Inn and was designed to blend into the beautiful Taos scenery filled with adobe architecture. The hotel is a wonderful recreation of the adobe texture, and is filled with the works of regional artists. A redesign process on some of the suites went underway after they left the Holiday Inn franchise, adding such subtle touches as a fireplace in each suite.

Hot Tub
One of the key attractions to the hotel is their luxurious hot tub, which dwarfs many other hot tubs in its class. Often times however, guests will find the hot tub has drained more than half of the water, in which cases review sites like TripAdvisor have shown that the hotel is not very receptive when dealing with this issue. Despite this, when the hot tub works it is fantastic.

Conference Rooms
Another grand feature is that they have over 2,600 square feet available for meetings, which during a sightseeing trip might be useful. Their have a suite that can be used to sit 150 people for a theatre performance and seat 100 for a banquet. Of particular acclaim is their DH Lawrence Suite, named after the renowned English author who spent his final days in Taos.

Pricing
The price for the Don Fernando de Taos is fairly reasonable, with many people able to grab a suite at under $100 a night if they stay for 2 nights or longer. The hotel is also well known for matching prices found online, which is a boon to many travelers as it means they might get lucky and get a $50 a night suite with a fireplace.
